Then the Lord said to Elijah, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake, and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire and after the fire a still small voice. 1 Kings 19:11-13

Sometimes pain is our friend. Some people forget why Elijah was at the side of this mountain. He was there running from Jezebel. The great killer prophet killed over 800 false prophets and all of sudden started to run scared. Like some of us, he grew tired of the battlefield.

Even though there was success, his soul grew weary of constantly battling the enemy. How about you? I love this scripture because it shows me how real Elijah was and how faithful God is to us.

And, while he was ready to collapse and give up – Elijah heard the still, small voice of God.

Through the wind, earthquake and the fire, Elijah heard his next destiny assignment. Destiny is not one place in time. Destiny is a series of masterful locations leading you through a series of experiences for an ultimate end.

Ask Joseph. The pit was a painful place. Potifar’s house and prison were a painful place but he had a visual expectation knowing full-well that God is faithful and true. The images in his dream conveyed a message. A promise. An announcement of things to come.

In each place, Joseph suffered a level of pain but elevation was imminent. Every time he was mistreated he got closer to destiny. Pain is the indicator that you longer fit where you are. Pain creates discomfort. Pain has a way of transitioning us.

Joseph transition three times and each time pain multiplied but each time Joseph stayed focused.

Your blessing is connected to your pain. Pain positions you closer to destiny.

What has God promised you? What are you going through right now? This too shall pass and pass you into your promise land. You have a land that is flowing with milk and honey. A land that is filled with provision and peace.

Are you feeling great pain? Here comes great deliverance. Get ready, get ready…get ready.
